This Job Description should be read in conjunction with the relevant terms of reference, the Group’s Governance Manual which sets out responsibilities for establishing, maintaining and implementing the Group’s high-level systems and controls, the Bank’s policies and procedures, and the jobholder’s contract of employment. The jobholder acknowledges that he / she has understood and will be abide by the responsibilities set out in the Governance Manual as well as ensure compliance with Group Code of Conduct, and the FCA/PRA’s Statements of Principal and Code of Practice for Approved Persons.


  • Maintain an organization structure that is aligned with the Group Collections Standards.
  • Oversee career development plans of key resources; viz, direct reports, and 2 downs, to assure robust succession planning and adequate bench – strength for key positions.
  • Build a professional team of collection managers by implementing 3M methodology (measuring, monitoring, and motivating activities)
  • Manage capacity planning, in accordance with Group Collection Standards, to ensure that adequate collection resources are in place, to execute collection strategies, and deliver business objectives.
  • Encourage and promote an active training and learning Collections environment, to facilitate excellence in collection management.
  • Responsible for Collection Department and contracted third party agency that is incompliance with the Group Code of Conduct, Collectors Code of Conduct & Third-Party Agent Code of Conduct.
  • Responsible for appropriate empowerment of authorities to manager in Collection, to facilitate the expeditious and effective execution of the day to day tasks.


  • Deliver sustainable and capital accretive income and profit growth, improve return on capital and optimize the balance sheet profile. Work with the business to support growth while remaining within Risk Appetite.


  • To manage GCO budget IDR 260bio or USD18.1mio or better.
  • Recovery budget at IDR 86bio or USD 6bio
  • Manage Loan Impairment to be within budget for overall retail products of IDR 160.36 bn or USD 11.1m by exploring opportunities to deliver stretch LI.
  • Manage expense to be within budget of USD 3.6 mio and further stretch cost by 445K USD
  • Improve Collection efficiencies to Global Standards
  • Release of one floor in 2020
  • Reduce tele cost by rationalize the number of telephone extensions in use and call recording required


  • Get Digitally Fit – identify opportunities / partners in improving our credit decisioning process.


  • Execution of collection process for Nexus in 2020
  • M collect fully implemented in H1 2020.
  • Implementation of settlement process through CACS

People and Talent

  • Raise the bar on conduct, enhancing engagement with people and reinforcing collaboration as 'One Bank'.


  • Timely closure on GIA audit issues raised in 2019
  • Tactical 2020 implementation to motivate the team
  • Improved score in My Voice on engagement

Risk Management

  • Strengthen discipline in adherence to processes and standards.


  • Maintain GIA MCA rating at Established or improved to Advanced
  • No repeat operational risk issues
  • Improvement in finding in collection call monitoring
  • Proper tracking for mortgage, especially on cases assigned to law firm and auction house Timely gap analysis and renewal of dispensation as applicable.


  • Managing risk and compliance as part of my role. To take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of my role. Understand and comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Groups policies, procedures and the Group Code of Conduct.


  • Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies and the Group Code of Conduct
  • Timely completion of all mandatory risk and compliance training, including e-learning by the set deadlines
  • Proactive identification and reporting of risks and concerns
  • Mitigation of risks and resolution of issues in a timely manner including developing suitable controls and measuring their effectiveness

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Retail Credit Risk to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Serve as a Director of the Board of Credit Risk
